Zimbabwe parliament opens debate on nationalisation

HARARE (Reuters) - Zimbabwe's parliament on Tuesday began debating an empowerment bill that would give blacks majority ownership of foreign companies, including mines and banks.

President Robert Mugabe's government introduced the proposed law in parliament last month, which critics say, if passed in its current form, could accelerate the decline of the economy.
