MILAN (Reuters) - South African Hennie Otto secured a maiden European Tour victory after a one-stroke triumph over Briton Oliver Wilson in the Italian Open on Sunday.
Otto fired a closing round 69 for a 25-under par tally of 263, one stroke clear of Wilson who carded a bogey-free 64 on the Castello di Tolcinasco course.
Sweden's Robert Karlsson, who led by two strokes after a new course record on Friday, carded a final round 67 to finish third and a shot adrift of Wilson.
Otto's win followed victories by compatriots Richard Sterne, who took the co-sanctioned Joburg Open on the European Tour in January, and Trevor Immelman, winner of the U.S. Masters last month.
