S.Africa stocks rebound after Fed cuts interest rate

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South African blue chip stocks reversed losses, gaining over two percent on Tuesday after the U.S. Federal Reserve cut benchmark interest rates by three-quarters of a percentage point.

The JSE Securities Exchange's blue chip Top-40 index stood 2.12 percent higher at 23,574 points by 1327 GMT, having bounced from the 22,868 level after the surprise rate cut.
